At TJ Transport, we can be the one-stop-shop for your next project! We’ll work with you to combine the services you need to create a hassle-free package that will allow you to avoid dealing with multiple suppliers.
This all-in-one service can be utilised by domestic customers undertaking larger-scale home projects such as house clearances, renovations, garden overhauls or driveway renewals, as well as trade customers undertaking large projects on behalf of a company or commercial venture.
Tradespeople working in the industry may already utilise a service that offers several services combined, such as a builders’ merchant, but we’re confident that we can provide you with a more cost effective option.
This is a bespoke service, meaning that you can utilise just the services that you require, which may be different from project to project. Whilst one project may require a combination of skip and grab hire, another may call for grab hire, muck away and aggregate supply – whatever your needs, you can rest assured that we’ll be able to accommodate them.
We offer a range of services including grab hire, skip hire, muck away and aggregate supply.
Grab hire
Designed with effortless waste collection in mind, grab hire is perfect for use where space is limited or for those times when you simply want the waste removed quickly and free from hassle. Grabs are often utilised for driveway renewals, large-scale garden projects, house renovations and house/garage clearances. We also serve commercial construction sites, providing muck away services as well as the delivery of a wide range of aggregates with our grabs.
Our 8-wheel grab lorries have a load capacity of 15m3 or approximately 14 – 16 tonnes. Grab vehicles are perfectly equipped to load a wide range of waste streams, including builders’ waste, inert spoil, concrete, bricks, asphalt and green waste. Our fleet is available to hire for waste collection and disposal, and haulage per load, day or contract mileage basis.
Skip hire
To decide which skip is right for your project you’ll need to estimate how much waste you think you’ll generate and go for the skip to match. The guidance below and the videos on the individual skip pages should help, and you’ll also find exact dimensions on those pages too.
2 yard ‘mini’ skip: this is ideal for small domestic and garden jobs and will hold 20-30 bin bags’ worth of waste.
4 yard ‘midi’ skip: perfect for projects such as kitchen or bathroom refits or garden clearance, this skip can hold 30-40 bin bags.
6 yard ‘maxi’ skip: it can hold between 50 and 60 bin bags of waste, making it ideal for medium-sized projects such as house renovations and clearance of gardens, garages and lofts.
8 yard ‘mega’ skip: this skip can hold 60-80 bin bags’ worth of waste. It is often used for bulky waste as well as rubble or concrete and is perfect for major renovation work or full house clearance.
12 yard ‘jumbo’ skip: ideal for larger jobs such as full office or house clearances as well as a range of commercial projects, this skip can hold the equivalent of around 120 bin bags and is perfect for lightweight yet bulky waste.
Muck away
If you’re working on a large-scale project that will generate large volumes of soil or rubble, our muck away service will provide the ideal solution for removal. We use a combination of our vehicles to carry out the service; one of our 8 wheel grab lorries will move the materials from your site onto one of our tipper trucks, which will transport it away from your site quickly and without fuss. Using grab lorries means that accessibility is rarely an issue as they are compact and able to access restricted areas with ease.
We can use more than one tipper truck at a time if the volume of materials is vast, or do multiple trips if needed. Please note we also specialise in removing hazardous materials such as contaminated soils, which we will take to one of our partners for treatment before onward disposal – please get in touch to find out more.
Aggregate supply
We’re aggregate experts who can advise you on the best materials to use for your project. We continually work hard to identify the leading places to source the various aggregates from, keeping affordability and eco-friendly factors in mind. We’ve built up a huge network of partners over the years, building up trust with them so we know we can rely on them to provide us with the highest quality products on the market.
We supply rock chalk from our own quarry at Butser, and sand and gravel from our quarry at Hythe. Many of our externally-sourced aggregates come from the South West region; we choose to source from here rather than going further afield to keep transportation costs and carbon emissions to a minimum.
