Our Type 1 Limestone is a high-quality, crushed primary aggregate meticulously graded to meet the strict requirements of the Department of Transport’s Specification for Highway Works, Clause 803 (SHW 803).
It is a hard, durable crushed rock. The blending of various particle sizes is essential for specific applications, as the finer dust fills the voids between the larger stones when compacted. This creates a highly stable, interlocking and unyielding sub-base capable of supporting significant weight without shifting.
Type 1 Limestone is the industry standard where maximum load-bearing strength is required. It is primarily used as a load-bearing sub-base for high-traffic surfaces, highways and heavy-duty construction groundworks.
