Driver CPC training available at TJ’s Fareham HQ

TJ Transport is offering places on their Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)  driver training courses to commercial drivers in Hampshire, West Sussex and the surrounding areas.

TJ’s Fleet Manager and Driver CPC Trainer, Lee Downer, gained his CPC trainer qualification back in February 2012 and went onto secure approved training centre status for TJ soon after.

This has meant that over the past nine years, it has been possible for all CPC training to be carried out on-site by Lee rather than our drivers having to go off-site and complete separate training programmes elsewhere.

And now TJ is opening up the training sessions and extending an invitation out to any commercial drivers who would like to complete their CPC training at TJ’s HQ, which is situated on Wickham Road, Fareham.

Lee said:

“It’s great that we’re now opening up these training sessions to external commercial drivers as it will ensure that the training sessions are well-utilised, as well as give local drivers another venue option to choose from.”

Lee is a knowledgeable and experienced trainer, so your drivers will be in good hands. In 2019, Lee facilitated the successful completion of essential CPC training for every TJ driver in order to meet a company-wide refresher deadline. He also facilitates a range of other driver training to ensure exceptional driver performance is maintained.

CPC compliance is compulsory for all lorry drivers, with periodic training required to ensure all drivers have the necessary certification.

The next training sessions are being offered as follows:
Saturday 13 November: Traffic Law, Incidents & Vulnerable Road Users
Saturday 27 November: Driver Welfare, Customer Care & Security

The sessions will kick off bright and early with registration at 06:45 for a 07:00 start and finishing at 15:00. Each session costs £65 per head, plus an upload fee. Free hot and cold refreshments will be available.

Find out more about the sessions and book your place(s) by emailing ldowner@tj-transport.co.uk or calling 08000 463 964.
